Gruber Photographers is a New York City photography studio that pioneered the shift to photojournalistic, documentary-style wedding and event photography. We are an innovative, modern studio that pushes the field forward while respecting and preserving the unique beauty and authenticity of traditional forms and textures.
Distinguished by a unique, cinematic approach and a storyteller’s eye for detail, we have always been inspired by one simple truth: life’s great moments are defined not only by their subjects, but also by the effect they have on those who share them. This passion for the power of photography to capture the honest emotion of our clients’ events is evident from your first meeting and every visit to our studio.
An accomplished photographer and filmmaker, Terry Gruber founded Gruber Photographers about 25 years ago, after his photographs of friends’ weddings turned into larger and more prestigious assignments. As the business has grown, we have assembled an “A team” of exceptional photographers who share a commitment to our craft and a uniquely down-to-earth spirit that puts our clients at ease.
Our trademark combination of innovative technologies and techniques with traditional film and classic textures has made us the photographer of choice for celebrities like Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas as well as high-profile private weddings, events and mitzvahs. Our work has been featured in media ranging from Vogue and Vanity Fair to American Photo and the Travel Channel, and we have earned numerous awards, including Modern Bride’s Trendsetter Award for Photography.
Located in Manhattan’s Flatiron district, our new studio reflects the spirit of our company and the clients we work with: open, friendly and passionate about telling great stories through the art of the image.
